Excellent - you're still with me.

Now we're getting down to the nitty gritty. I've talked about using keyword research. I've discussed some of the dumb things most business owners do (including taking marketing advice from advertising sales reps and graphic artists about building websites!).

I've demonstrated the huge value of building a list of clients. Now I'm going to show you some really, really important stuff.

Look, there's nothing mysterious about getting visitors to sign up to your list and then buy your products and services. As I said in Step #1, a lot of complete nonsense has been written and spoken about web marketing. So let's keep it simple.

Simple Fact #1:

In the web business, there are TWO things you've gotta have before you worry about anything else. Not flash sites, or audio, or tag and ping, or RSS....the two things you've gotta have before you think about all that other stuff, are

1.  Keyword List

2. List of clients

Without those two, you just don't have a web business, do you...you do not even have to have something to sell, first of all you can just use Adsense. You see without a Keyword list you will not be able to write about stuff that will get free traffic, or put up Google ads to get paid traffic.  And then once you have got that traffic you need to keep some of them as clients, otherwise you will not have a stable ongoing business.  Now the ONLY thing that visitors to your site in the first place is Keywords.  They are what people pump into the search engines on the net all the time and that is what provides the vast majority or traffic initially.

Simple Fact #2:

Just putting up a few pages is not good enough. Lots of people do that and get nowhere. (Lots of your competitors are doing it now!) The simple fact is the search engines and directories will not take you seriously until you have at least twenty pages of content.  They think that if there is not at least that amount the site is not important.  Now how do you come up with twenty pages about your business.  Simple use a keyword list that tells you what people are looking for about your business or service.  Not what you think is important but what they are looking for.  Most small business owners simply do NOT understand this crucial point:

It's Better to have more content Than it is to have a beautiful site!

Now, if business is about MARKETING A PRODUCT, it's important to know something - what you think is important and searched for by your visitors often has nothing to do with what your visitors are punching into the Google, Yahoo and MSN search tool.

I'll put that another way. Most small business owners name their site after their business like this 'Le Beau Day Spa', right?

Let me put this to you.

In the entire history of human habitation of the planet, no woman has ever woken in the morning, shot bolt upright in bed, nudged Bob in the ribs and cried;

"I know what I want today... I must go onto the net and type in "le Beau Day Spa"... "

No, of course not. She would just look up the white pages on or offline.  You see FACT if you know the name of the place the web is the last place people look for it

But today she might say "today I want Smooth, hairless thighs" and as she does not as yet have a place to go she might jump on the wireless laptop in the Bedroom and start typing!

So what does she type into a search engine - maybe "day spa perth" or "beauty salon Perth" or "Waxing Perth" (well in fact not - you see I know exactly what she types in but I am not allowed to tell you because that research has been paid for by a client of mine who books 8-12 new clients every month off that one aspect which ads tens of thousands to her income each year).

But I hope you get the idea, think about when you type something in to a search engine.  You type in your problem.  "how to fix a broken blind" or "small business accounting service" etc etc.

Now think about this, what does the search engine what to give back to the searcher?

(Hint they make money by giving the best results..)

Answer; The best information that they have about whatever the person typed in...

Now think about

You have a website that has 5 pages about your company and one page about broken blinds, your competitor has 200 pages about broken blinds and fixes and just one about us page.  If you were a search engine which one would you show the client.

Hint: the 200 page site

Why - simple each page ads a little value to all the other pages on the site as long as they are about blinds and related stuff like shades (the search engines are that clever and getting better)

Now, here's what's instructive.

In a massive amount of cases you can get very high in the search engines with 20 pages.  But if like my wife you just built a big keyword list and broke each area of you keywords down you could easily be up in the low hundreds.  Do you think you could ad just one article a week of 250 or 350 words?  That is about 6 five sentence paragraphs about a subject you should know pretty well.

Even done really badly this type of site will often beat loads of professionally built sites because (and focus on this) the search engines erad content and there is absolutely no value built into there systems to put people with good looking sites at the top of search engines, they only care about content.

That is why I have a 20 Page Starter Pack Its No Accident!

So lets recap

Step #1: Get a Keyword list together of searched for terms - Here is a quick and dirty tool to use good key words now be careful as some keywords are very competitive and as a small business you will not be able to beat some of the big boys, but that tool will give you a start.

Step #2: Have a way to turn the traffic into a list

Step #3: Never stop adding fresh content to your site. The search engines love it

What's going to happen? First, your will stop worrying about what to do next becasue you have a list of keywords to keep writing about.  The more you write the more traffic you will get.

Second, you're going to convert that traffic into a big list of potential clients who places value on what you say!

Third, you're going to - send them great information and sell them some products or services - that you already probably have in mind!

In Step #5, I'm going to reveal

'the simplest way ever to write a report that your clients would die for..'

That's in Step #5...
